Pleasantly surprised July 27, 2010 gr8day I purchased this case for my netbook prior to a vacation. When I first looked at it, I thought it would work well for the computer, but I thought that it did not have adequate space for the power cords and wireless mouse.
As it turns out, those extra items fit quite nicely and securely in the case. I am very happy with the case and the seller was excellent.
Lenovo X201 with 9-cell battery doesn't fit July 15, 2010 J. Edstrom The construction of this sleeve seems good however a Lenovo X201 with the extended 9-cell battery will not fit.
Good but... July 11, 2010 orz~ 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I recently got this sleeve for a new 11.6" laptop that I also bought here on Amazon, specifically the Acer TM8172-3519 11.6-Inch Notebook (I might write a review for that after a couple of months of using it). Anyway, the 8172 fits in the LNEO-12 really well. The laptop doesn't jiggle inside, and the zippers aren't touching the corners or scratching the edges when I close it. Likewise, although I'm not using the outside pocket right now, I'm sure there's plenty of room to squeeze stuff in there as the sleeve isn't even being stretched yet with only the laptop inside the main compartment.
PROS:
1) Handles! I put this sleeve inside a bigger bag/briefcase, so having handles makes it easy to pull it out of my briefcase quickly.
2) Pockets! Although not necessary for what I use it for right now, it's great to have them when you need them. Also, it adds a second layer of protection for your laptop, or whatever it is you use this bag for.
CONS:
1) Pockets =D Haha! They're pretty much useless if you don't actually need them =P Also, they make one side of the bag thicker than the other because of how the zipper (of the pocket, not the main compartment) bulges. Really annoying. I think it would've been better if both sides of the pocket had a zipper. At least it would be aesthetically more pleasing to look at, and probably more functional :/
2) I already mentioned the uneven outside pocket, but another thing that this sleeve lacks is a second zipper for the main compartment. I wish this was more like Mobile Edge's sleeves. Too bad the Alienware Orion doesn't have a handle.
3) There's a tag/label inside the main compartment that could potentially snag against a micro USB device on your laptop. Why they put a tag in the main compartment when they could have just as easily put it in the outside pocket is beyond me!
Other Comments:
1) Although the handles haven't come off yet, I fear they might wear out within a year or so even if my only use for them is to pull the sleeve in and out of another bag, as opposed to carrying it by itself on my way to work everyday, which I would never do judging by how flimsy the handles look in the first place. Haha! (Obviously, this is only an opinion, and the handles may actually be very strong! YMMV!)
2) The bag isn't as thick as I would like it to be. Again, not really a con... it's just the way neoprene is, and I'd prefer a harder case like the new QNS-111 (also by Case Logic) that isn't really available yet at the time of this writing. (You can already pre-order it from Case Logic's website, but it won't ship until September at the earliest, and who knows when it'll be available on other sites.)
3) Neoprene REALLY stinks when it's new... T_T
Edit:
I forgot to mention... another reason why I think the QNS-111 is better than this sleeve is because the zipper only opens halfway on the LNEO-12. Would've been nice if it can go 270 degrees around the bag so you can open it like a book and leave your laptop inside while you're using it.
So useable July 11, 2010 hambone13 (Coshocton, United States) It is very useable. I have a 12 in. laptop and the stretch cover goes on perfectly. There is enough padding to perfectly protect the laptop and the handles make carrying it convenient. Would purchase again.
Netbook Sleeve June 14, 2010 Abigail (Georgia) This product is well made and sturdy but does not allow the room I need to store accessories. When accessories are stored in the side pouch, they bulge out and look unsightly. Keep in mind when ordering this product that it is a netbook sleeve -- not a carry case with room for accessories.
